Sts Philip and James, Apostles

1 candle lit

Philip and James were two of the Twelve apostles. Philip came from Bethsaida in Galilee, the town of Peter and Andrew, and he brought his friend Nathanael to meet Jesus. At the Last Supper he asked Jesus to show them the Father, and Jesus answered that whoever has seen him has seen the Father. James, son of Alphaeus, is called the Lesser to tell him from the other apostle James. They are patrons of Uruguay. Their feast is May 3.
