St Monica, mother of St Augustine

St Monica prayed for her son Augustine for years while he went his own way, and lived to see him come back to the faith. He became a bishop and one of the great saints. She is the patron of mothers and of patience. Her feast is August 27. Light a candle for a child who has drifted away. St Monica, pray for us.
