St Mary Magdalene de’ Pazzi, Carmelite mystic
1 candle lit
St Mary Magdalene de’ Pazzi was born Catherine, into a noble family in Florence, in 1566. She entered the Carmelite convent there at sixteen, where she could receive Holy Communion daily. She is called the ecstatic saint for her mystical visions, which she dictated to secretaries, filling five volumes. Afterwards she endured five years of dryness, temptation and great pain. She died in 1607, aged 41. Her feast is May 25. Light a free candle for those walking through a dry season of faith. St Mary Magdalene de’ Pazzi, pray for us.
