Margaret Mary Alacoque was born in 1647 and died on 17 October 1690. In 1674 she received revelations from Christ about his Sacred Heart as a sign of divine love. She promoted frequent Communion, especially on the first Friday of each month, and a Thursday night hour of prayer. She wrote that the heaviest of her crosses was being unable to lighten the cross her mother was suffering. Her feast is October 16.
