For a special intention

St Faustina Kowalska, Apostle of Divine Mercy

1 candle lit

Faustina Kowalska was born in 1905 into a poor farming family in Poland and entered a convent at the age of twenty. At the request of her confessors she kept a diary, which records her encounters with Jesus and his message of mercy. In 1931 she reported a vision that led to the Divine Mercy image with the words Jesus, I trust in You. She died of tuberculosis in Krakow on October 5, 1938, aged thirty-three. Pope John Paul II canonised her on April 30, 2000. Her feast is October 5. Light a free candle for trust in God's mercy. St Faustina, pray for us.
