St Charles Lwanga and the Uganda Martyrs

1 candle lit

St Charles Lwanga and his young companions, pages at the royal court, chose death rather than give up their faith between 1885 and 1887. They were canonized in 1964. Every year millions gather at Namugongo, where many of them died, for their feast on June 3. Light a candle for Uganda and for young Christians in Africa. Uganda Martyrs, pray for us.
