An ancient tradition tells that Mary came to St James at Zaragoza, in Spain, standing on a pillar, to encourage him in his mission. She is the patroness of Zaragoza, of Aragon and of the Spanish-speaking peoples. Her feast is October 12. Light a candle for Spain and for all of Hispanic America. Our Lady of the Pillar, pray for us.
