The story tells that in 1630 an oxcart carrying a small statue of Mary stopped by the Luján river and would not move until the statue was taken down. A shrine grew there, and she became the patroness of Argentina. Her feast is May 8. Light a candle for Argentina. Our Lady of Luján, pray for us.
